How we verify.
Most homeschool sites copy each other and hope nobody checks. We do the opposite. Every law guide, every community pin, every funding entry, and every resource on this site carries a date, because a real person looked at it on that date. That little stamp is the entire brand in one mark, and no competitor can copy it without doing the same work.

The Scout Verified stamp
When you see the gold Scout Verified stamp with a date, it means one of us personally walked through that state's law, confirmed the details against the statute, and signed off on it. We do not stamp something we have not checked ourselves. Today that depth-verified stamp lives on a focused set of states, and it grows as we work through the rest.

The states we have researched but not yet given the full depth pass show an honest researched, final review pending note instead of the gold stamp. We would rather tell you exactly where a guide stands than dress up a guess as a guarantee. Nothing unverified is ever shown as verified, anywhere on this site.
Reading the dates
How to read the dates
Laws change, districts shift, and communities come and go. The date next to any item tells you the last time a human confirmed it. If a date looks old, treat the item as a strong starting point and confirm the current detail with your district or the program directly. We re-check on a rolling basis and move the date forward when we do.

We are two people, and the territory is large. If a law has changed, a pin has moved, or a link has died, report it and we will re-check it. Catching what we missed is part of how this stays honest.
